Overview

Access within occupied healthcare buildings

For work in an occupied hospital, the route into the building matters as much as the working platform. We agree material movements, working areas and any restrictions with the contractor and facility team before the scaffold arrives.

Existing finishes, entrances and circulation routes need to be considered alongside erection and dismantling. Any required closures or segregation must be agreed as part of the work sequence.

TWK Scaffolding was appointed by CRL (Concrete Repairs Limited) to provide a fully designed crash deck and birdcage structure within an internal courtyard at Poole Hospital in Dorset. Fully designed crash deck and birdcage installed in just two days over a weekend at operational Poole Hospital. For Westmade at Dorset County Hospital, we provided a designed courtyard working platform, HAKI staircase, goods-hoist run-off platform and internal access for ducting works.

For Acheson Construction at Barchester’s 68-bed Upton Bay Care Home in Hamworthy, TWK provided full-floor internal birdcages and progressive perimeter scaffolding. The coordinated internal and external package was delivered within the agreed budget and programme.
