TWK team have been tasked with designing and erecting this temporary roof structure to ensure old sports hall can be demolished while school can stay fully open and unaffected by the works next
door.
Due to the sensitive environment we couldn’t use the crane to erect the roof frame on the floor and get it up on top of the independent scaffold in large sections as you normally would do, we came up with an idea of creating “mobile roof” which allowed TWK operatives erect each bay directly on the top of the scaffold and push it along as we are completing all twelve bays of frame together with heavy duty sheets being pulled over to provide 100% waterproof temporary roof to ensure works can be carried out regardless of the weather, additionally with sheeting “sandwiched” in between
the boards and flame retardant monoflex installed on sides we were able to create fully enclosed environmental protection to keep al the dust and debris within the structure.
The “environmental seal” had to be of the highest standard due to large quantities of asbestos being removed prior to the demolition works taking place.
