National Grid Sealing End Encapsulation Project
TWK Scaffolding was appointed to design, supply and erect a specialist encapsulation scaffold for critical works on a National Grid Cable Sealing End (CSE) installation.
Operating within a live high-voltage electrical infrastructure environment required extensive planning, strict safety controls and close coordination with National Grid engineers, principal contractors and specialist electrical teams.
The project involved the construction of a fully enclosed environmental containment scaffold designed to provide safe access while protecting sensitive equipment and allowing essential maintenance and upgrade works to be completed regardless of weather conditions.
Specialist Scaffolding for National Grid Infrastructure
Cable Sealing Ends form a critical component of the UK’s electricity transmission network, connecting underground cable systems to overhead transmission lines and associated substation infrastructure.

The scaffold structure was fully encapsulated using weatherproof sheeting to create a controlled working environment around the Cable Sealing End equipment.
